Starfield Looks Absolutely Incredible in Extensive Gameplay Showcase from Bethesda

Following the Xbox Games Showcase, Bethesda and Microsoft introduced plenty of new gameplay and information about Starfield within the Starfield Direct livestream.

We start by taking a look at exploration gameplay and gathering, immediately moving on to combat. Yet, things get really interesting and impressive as we land in the New Atlantis City in the Alpha Centauri system.

In New Atlantis, we get to meet quite a few interesting characters, and Bethesda claims it's the biggest city it has ever built. We also get a glimpse of the city of Sedonia on Mars, on top of the Western-like Free Star Collective space and its capital city.

The next segment showcases character creation, which doesn't just include physical customization, but also backgrounds. Funnily, we also see that the iconic Adoring Fan from The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion is back.

The developers then provide a look at the various skill trees and progression paths included in the game, which certainly seem to leave a lot of room to personalize your play style.

Of course, this wouldn't be a Starfield presentation without a good look at planetary exploration and our starships, which can be fully customized and crewed. There are plenty of different ships, from fighters to massive freighters. The video also showcases companions, crew members, and even romance.

More footage shows space battles, but there is much more to do in space than just fighting, as you can interact with other ships and pilots in many ways.

We then switch gears with a look at the watch coming with the Collector's Edition. It even has its own case. Todd Howard himself also presented a custom controller and a custom headset dedicated to the game.

Moving back to the game itself, we see how Starfield even includes the ability to build your own structures and outposts anywhere on any planet. Incidentally, photo mode was also confirmed.

You can check everything out in the video below.

Starfield releases for  Xbox Series X|S and PC on September 6, 2023. If you'd like to see more, you can take a look at the brand-new story trailer from earlier today and another showcased a while ago

Starfield was originally teased all the way back in 2018. It was supposed to release in November 2022, but it was then delayed to the first half of 2023. I'd say that today's presentation went a long way in proving that it was worth it.
